RES owns an in-house water analysis lab used for daily operations, detecting anomalies in wastewater and adjusting chemical dosing. The lab is capable of analyzing pH, water temperature, heavy metals, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, oil and grease, phenol, ammonia, sulfides, COD, nitrogen, and phosphorus.

Produced water (PW) is generated during the production of oil and gas.
It consists of a complex composition of various organic and inorganic compounds.
Global produced water production is around 328 million barrels per day (52.28 million cubic meters per day) and increasing.
The water cut, which represents the water-to-oil ratio, is 4:1 and increasing.
Currently, there is no complete solution available worldwide, and most available solutions target only specific parameters like FOG (Fat, Oil, and Grease), heavy metals, sulfides, or ammonia.

PPU Umwelttechnik is based in Bayreuth, Germany. The company is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and solution provider for industrial wastewater treatment, decentralized municipal wastewater treatment, and mobile wastewater treatment. Their physical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment systems are available as containerized modules, and their equipment can be installed in new or existing tanks. PPU’s cost-effective products and solutions can be exported and installed globally by their installation team. PPU is actively involved in research and development in collaboration with Bayreuth University, a renowned public research university founded in 1975.

PPU initiated lab experiments at PIA GmbH, an accredited and notified testing body for the certification of wastewater treatment products in Germany. In cooperation with PPU, RES began exploring the Egyptian market to find a solution for one of the most polluted areas in the country.
